Hunt's Film Reviews, Should You Choose to Accept Them

  It's becoming more and more clear that Tom Cruise and company should've stopped making Mission: Impossible films after 2018's Mission: Impossible - Fallout . That was one of the better entries in the franchise, while  Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning and Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning are two of the worst.   I'm glad a film like The Accountant 2 is in theaters. On the surface, it seems like a movie that could get pushed straight to a streaming service like Prime Video. However,  The Accountant 2 is a gratifying movie experience. It's the type of film whose release date can sneak up on you, but one you want to make time to see at a cinema. I have to start my review of The Accountant 2 by talking about an aspect that surprised me. The movie has a lot of funny dialogue and scenes. I wasn't expecting so many laugh-out-loud moments in The Accountant 2 , but it works quite well. The humor doesn't distract from the drama, and there isn't a conflicting tone throughout the movie. The serious nature of uncovering the murder of a U.S. Treasury chief and the other crimes throughout the story is handled effectively. The main trio of Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck), Braxton (Jon Bernthal) and Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) work well together. Each character has a distincti...
